St Patricks day celebrations

Thank you to all the grandparents, friends and family who joined us for our St Patrick's day celebrations. We started the day with a special liturgy and then made badges, hats and green biscuits. We loved watching the Veggie Tales video about St Patrick and our visitors enjoyed it too.

Our visit to Our Lady of Fatima church Tawa

We had a special liturgy at church last Monday. We are learning about belonging to our church family. Father Paul told us about Baptism and he pretended to Baptise our class doll.
We are watching the Baptisim
Here is Father Paul pouring the water over our doll's head

Grandparents and Special People Topic

Dear parents,
Sadly our Marae visit has had to be postponed due to the earthquake; they have to keep it free for accommodation.
Rooms 1, 2&3 will now be studying the topic ‘My Grandparents and me’
We will be describing the different roles Grandparents/special family friends and children have within the family group.
Can you fill out the ‘Special people’ and ‘Family tree’ work sheets with your child, and return to school.
If you are able to send to school a photo of you child’s Grandparents or special person, it would be much appreciated.
We are planning a Grandparent’s morning at school on St Patrick’s Day, Thursday 17 March at 10am-12.30.  Please invite Grandparents and/or special family friends to attend!

We are learning about shapes

Kia ora from all the students in Room 2.

Welcome to our new 2011 class blog, we hope you enjoy finding out about all the things that we are doing.
